Life-Threatening Tornadoes Tear Through 5 U.S. States — Videos

On April 2, severe storms traversed the United States, resulting in tornadoes across at least five states: Arkansas, Oklahoma, Indiana, Missouri, and Illinois. One of the most powerful tornadoes impacted Lake City, Arkansas, inflicting considerable damage, although there were no immediate reports of injuries. Storm chasers recorded dramatic footage of several tornadoes, which meteorologists referred to as “monsters.”

In Indiana, Missouri, and Illinois, tornadoes caused destruction to homes, warehouses, and essential infrastructure, leading to the issuance of emergency alerts. The National Weather Service (NWS) issued warnings regarding potentially life-threatening flash floods in the Ohio Valley and Mid-South regions.
