Never mind that he is an MS-13 member &amp; confessed to murdering 5 people in El Salvador through shooting, torturing, stabbing, and dismemberment (including one victim who was alive.)\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-10\">Advertisement<\/p>\n<div id=\"as6124\" data-title=\"You Might Also Like\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The official ICE X account responded to the CBS report, criticizing the classification of \u201cnon-violent\u201d criminals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHere\u2019s a more accurate headline, CBS. Nearly 70% of criminal aliens detained by ICE have pending charges or prior convictions. So-called \u2018non-violent\u2019 offenders include individuals charged with drug trafficking, distribution of child pornography, burglary, fraud, DUI, embezzlement, solicitation of a minor, human smuggling, and more. Labeling these offenses as \u2018non-violent\u2019 does not mean they aren\u2019t threats to public safety,\u201d the post read.<\/p>\n<p>Homeland Security\u2019s official X account also provided examples of illegal immigrants arrested by ICE who would be considered \u201cnon-violent\u201d according to the CBS report, as they were charged and convicted of violent crimes outside the United States,\u00a0Fox News reported.<\/p>\n<p>Even though the CBS headline claimed \u201cless than 14%\u201d of arrested illegal immigrants have \u201cviolent criminal records,\u201d the article itself did note that \u201cnearly 60% of ICE arrestees over the past year had criminal charges or convictions\u201d including for DUI, kidnapping and arson. The other 40%, according to the document, were \u201caccused of civil immigration offenses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The numbers in the CBS document represented 393,000 arrests made between Jan. 21, 2025 and Jan. 31 of this year, Fox reported.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-12\">\n<div data-delay=\"4000\" data-block=\"12\">\n<div>Advertisement<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Federal immigration authorities, meanwhile,\u00a0have begun aggressively arresting\u00a0and prosecuting civilians who follow or monitor enforcement operations in Minneapolis, part of a broader federal crackdown on what officials describe as interference with law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>The latest incident involved 42-year-old Becky Ringstrom, a mother of seven who was detained on January 29 after trailing federal immigration officers in her gray Kia SUV through a suburban neighborhood. According to bystander video verified by Reuters, Ringstrom was boxed in by unmarked vehicles before at least six masked agents surrounded her car, one striking her windshield with a metal object before taking her into custody.<\/p>\n<p>She was transported to the Bishop Henry Whipple Federal Building in Minneapolis, where she was cited under Title 18, Section 111 of the U.S. Code, a statute that criminalizes forcibly assaulting, resisting, opposing, impeding, or intimidating a federal officer.<\/p>\n<p>The charge can be filed as either a misdemeanor or a felony, carrying penalties of up to 20 years in prison in cases involving weapons or injuries. Court documents show Ringstrom was released after being photographed and told her information would be entered into a government database.
