Erika Kirk has been carrying the torch for her late husband, Charlie Kirk, by carrying on the work he had been doing for his organization, Turning Point USA. Erika was speaking at Turning Point USA\u2019s AmericaFest event in Phoenix, Arizona, on Saturday, December 20, when she made a slip of tongue that immediately went viral.<\/p>\n

The 37-year-old widow, unfortunately, used the word \u2018grift\u2019 instead of saying \u2018grit\u2019 when she was speaking of her late husband\u2019s work.<\/p>\n

One person immediately wrote their reaction on X, saying, \u201cThis is the greatest Freudian slip of all time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Erika Kirk stepped into the role of CEO after her husband was assassinated in September of this year. Erika\u2019s slip was at an event honoring a student named Caleb Chilcutt, who was with Charlie when he was fatally shot. He was standing next to her, receiving the Charlie Kirk Courage Award.<\/p>\n

Kirk was assassinated at an event at Utah Valley University, where Chillcut was a student. He also helped organize a memorial for Kirk on his campus later on.<\/p>\n

When Kirk makes the mistake, she immediately follows up with an excuse, \u201cDespite the devastating loss of Charlie Kirk, my incredible husband\u2026 Caleb has persisted with the same grift,\u201d before she quickly adds, \u201cExcuse me, gift,\u201d and then correcting herself one more time to say, \u201cgrit.\u201d<\/p>\n

When the mistake happened, she put a hand on her chest and sighed. She then put both her hands on the podium and leaned forward before she addressed the audience directly, saying, \u201cit has been a long day.\u201d She followed this up with looking at Chilcutt and saying, \u201cTrust me, you\u2019re not a grifter, honey. It\u2019s all good.\u201d<\/p>\n

The moment, however, went viral as expected.<\/p>\n

\u201cGreatest Freudian slip of all time followed by shameless grin of all time,\u201d one person commented.<\/p>\n

\u201cSooner or later the truth slips out!\u201d another person wrote.<\/p>\n

The event where this transpired was Turning Point USA\u2019s AmericaFest, which was held from December 18 to 21. This slip of the tongue became the most viral moment of the festival.<\/p>\n
