One of Fox television\u2019 biggest stars acknowledged the poisonous nature of cable television and accepted that she contributes to the issue.<\/p>\n

Larry Sabato, the founder and director of the University of Virginia\u2019s Center for Politics, was asked by Jessica Tarlov, a liberal commentator on Fox\u2019s top show, The Five, what subject most infuriated him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI watch more TV news than I ever have before. TV funnels what\u2019s selling on social media, I think, more than the reverse. That makes me rage,\u201d Sabato said on the Prof G podcast, which Tarlov co-hosts.<\/p>\n

Tarlov went on to admit that she is also part of the problem.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt does,\u201d Tarlov said. \u201cAs someone who\u2019s on cable news, I apologize to the entire world for what we export.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the interview, Sabato chuckled at Tarlov\u2019s comment, stating that the primary problem is the predominance of social media in political discourse.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s nothing we can do about social media,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe one thing I\u2019ve been waiting for that I was promised as a young person was a time machine,\u201d he added. \u201cWe still don\u2019t have one, cause I\u2019d love to go back and make it impossible to create social media. I don\u2019t know how I do it, but I would try to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n
