Dan Newhouse, R-Wash., one of only a handful of Republicans who voted to impeach President Donald Trump in 2021, announced on Wednesday that he will not run for re-election in 2026.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-1\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThis decision comes with no reservations or remorse, only gratitude for the tremendous opportunity to have represented my home state in Congress,\u201d Newhouse wrote in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>He added that he looks \u201cforward to this new chapter and way I can continue to serve my community and this great nation,\u201d and thanked his family \u201cfor their steadfast love and support.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Newhouse was first elected in 2014 and is one of two remaining House Republicans \u2014 along with Rep. A very aggressive legislative agenda coming right out of the gates in January. We\u2019re going to continue to work, for example, on health care to continue to bring costs down for the American people, to bring down the cost of living overall,\u201d Johnson declared.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s up to about 200 of those [orders], probably about 150 of them are codifiable by Congress and we\u2019re working steadily through that list.
