Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry sharply criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom during her appearance at The New York Times\u2019 DealBook Summit. The remarks marked a rare break from Hollywood\u2019s typical support for Democratic politicians. The crowd at Lincoln Center reacted with audible gasps as Berry delivered her comments.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt this stage in my life, I have zero f\u2013ks left to give,\u201d Berry said, according to the Hollywood Reporter, before criticizing Newsom for vetoing legislation aimed at supporting women experiencing menopause.<\/p>\n

Berry has spent the past year advocating for expanded access to menopause and midlife health resources through her company Respin.<\/p>\n

\u201cBack in my great state of California, my very own governor, Gavin Newsom, has vetoed our menopause bill, not one but two years in a row,\u201d Berry said. \u201cBut that\u2019s okay because he\u2019s not going to be governor forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWith the way he\u2019s overlooked women, half the population, by devaluing us in midlife, he probably should not be our next president either,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Berry\u2019s comments came hours before Newsom spoke later in the same program. The response from those in attendance included more gasps as her remarks circulated online.<\/p>\n
