Georgia State Senator Colton Moore announced earlier this week that he is entering the race to replace U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who is expected to resign from the House in early January.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday I\u2019m entering the race for Georgia\u2019s 14th congressional district because President Trump needs a fighter in Congress who will never flinch and never sell out,\u201d Moore said in a statement to Breitbart News.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwo years ago, I was the first elected official in America to demand Fani Willis be defunded and impeached for her witch-hunt against President Trump. The RINO establishment punished me for it, kicked me out of the caucus, banned me from the House floor, and even had me arrested for showing up to do my job. Every time they hit, we hit back harder, and we won bigger,\u201d the statement continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow we take that fight to Washington. With President Trump in the White House, we\u2019re going to finish the job by deporting all illegals, lowering the price of gas and groceries, and stopping socialism in its tracks,\u201d Moore added.<\/p>\n

Moore, 32, first won election to the Georgia House in 2018 at age 24 and later secured a seat in the state Senate in 2022. His tenure in state politics has been marked by repeated clashes with Republican leadership in Atlanta,\u00a0Breitbart noted<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He was expelled from the House in March 2024 after objecting to a resolution honoring a former state senator he described as \u201ccorrupt,\u201d following reports alleging the late lawmaker had used his office for personal financial gain. The following January, House Speaker Jon Burns directed law enforcement to remove and arrest Moore when he attempted to enter the chamber for the governor\u2019s State of the State address.<\/p>\n

Moore is now seeking to take his anti-establishment platform to Congress, arguing that his record in Georgia demonstrates a willingness to challenge party leadership and entrenched political interests.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve already gone toe to toe with the Georgia swamp and beat them,\u201d Moore said in his statement. \u201cI\u2019m ready to do it again in Congress, every single day, with President Trump leading the charge.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs Georgia\u2019s #1-ranked conservative, my campaign and record prove that I am 100% Pro-Trump, 100% Pro-Life, and 100% Pro-Gun,\u201d he continued. \u201cNorthwest Georgia sent me to Atlanta to fight. Now I\u2019m asking you to send me to Washington to get the job done.\u201d<\/p>\n

Taylor Greene\u00a0announced in November<\/a>\u00a0that she will resign from Congress on January 5, a move that will leave President Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) without a reliable Republican vote during a pivotal legislative period. Most federal government funding is set to expire on January 30, and with narrow margins in the House, GOP leaders are expected to need every available vote to avoid another shutdown.<\/p>\n

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp is expected to schedule a special election for March to fill Greene\u2019s seat. Greene has said she does not plan to endorse a candidate in the race.<\/p>\n

Her departure follows weeks of escalating tensions with the president after she repeatedly called for the immediate public release of the Jeffrey Epstein client list and related files. The dispute prompted Trump to criticize her and withdraw his endorsement in several posts on Truth Social.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have too much self-respect and dignity, love my family way too much, and do not want my sweet district to have to endure a hurtful and hateful primary against me by the President we all fought for, only to fight and win my election while Republicans will likely lose the midterms,\u201d Greene said in the video.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I am cast aside by the president and the MAGA political machine and replaced by Neocons, Big Pharma, Big Tech, Military Industrial War Complex, foreign leaders and the elite donor class that can never, ever relate to real Americans, then many common Americans have been cast aside and replaced as well,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
