Following this action, the judge filed the contempt charge against Sullivan, which may prompt Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden to review the case and decide whether any charges should be pursued.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-2\">\n<div id=\"e1c09a52-67a1-44a3-a58e-fc2bf67380c6\" class=\"_ap_apex_ad\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s reprehensible,\u201d Ryan Sullivan, one of Martell-Lebron\u2019s lawyers said. \u201cLaw enforcement agents have a job to see justice is done. Prosecutors have a job to see justice is done. The trial had just started, with opening statements and the first witnesses.<\/p>\n<p>Sullivan added that Martell-Lebron, a Dominican Republic native living with family in Massachusetts, is now being held at the Plymouth detention facility for allegedly being an undocumented immigrant, the AP noted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat we were challenging is that they arrested him in the middle of his trial and did not return him,\u201d he told the outlet. \u201cIf he had been brought to court on Friday morning by ICE, we would not have moved to dismiss. We would not be asking for sanctions. We would have just finished the trial.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-12\">\n<div data-delay=\"4000\" data-block=\"12\">\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Immigration officers became an increasingly visible presence at courthouses during Trump\u2019s first term, leading to pushback from judges and local officials.
