After the attack on National Guardsmen by an Afghan national, which killed one, and the arrest of another Afghan national on charges of making terroristic threats, a video has resurfaced from last year of Rep. Rashida Tlaib refusing to condemn chants of \u201cDeath To America\u201d in her district. Tlaib clashed with a Fox Business reporter after being asked to condemn the chants, Newsweek\u00a0reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Michigan Democrat responded by saying, \u201cI don\u2019t talk to Fox News,\u201d and accused the network of using \u201cracist tropes\u201d and being \u201cIslamophobic.\u201d<\/p>\n

On April 5, 2024 demonstrators gathered in Dearborn, Michigan, to mark the International Day of Al-Quds, an annual rally held in support of Palestine on the last Friday of Ramadan.<\/p>\n

The protest took place outside the Henry Ford Centennial Library on Michigan Avenue.<\/p>\n

According to The Detroit News, some attendees chanted \u201cdeath to America\u201d and \u201cdeath to Israel\u201d in Arabic during the event.<\/p>\n

Fox Business correspondent Hillary Vaughn approached Tlaib on Thursday inside the Capitol Hill complex and asked, \u201cAt a rally in your district people were chanting \u2018death to America,\u2019 do you condemn?\u201d<\/p>\n

Tlaib replied, \u201cI do not talk to Fox News.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked again whether she condemned the chanting, Tlaib said, \u201cI don\u2019t talk to people that use racist tropes.\u201d<\/p>\n

She later added, \u201cUsing racist tropes towards my community is what Fox News is about and I don\u2019t talk to Fox News.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vaughn then asked, \u201cIs chanting death to America racist?\u201d prompting Tlaib to respond, \u201cI\u2019m talking about your guys\u2019 racist tropes. You guys know exactly what you do. I know you\u2019re Islamophobic.\u201d<\/p>\n

A clip of the exchange was posted on X by Daily Caller media reporter Nicole Silverio, where it received more than 325,000 views.<\/p>\n
