The Democrats believed that advocating for the release of information about Epstein would damage President Donald Trump. However, the situation isn\u2019t unfolding as they anticipated. Instead, it\u2019s backfiring on them by uncovering numerous connections between Epstein and the Democratic Party.<\/p>\n
Epstein was a significant donor to Democrats, including Democratic Delegate Stacey Plaskett from the Virgin Islands, a non-voting member of the House. In fact, during a Congressional hearing in February 2019, Epstein was texting her to offer support against President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday, on the House floor, Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) stood up for Plaskett, contending that Republicans had accepted contributions from an individual named Jeffrey Epstein. She mentioned several names,\u00a0including Lee Zeldin<\/a>, who is the currently the head of the Environmental Protection Agency:<\/p>\n I just want to be clear: If this is the standard that we gonna make, just know we are gonna expose it all. And just know that the FEC filings, they are available for everyone to review. This is absolutely ridiculous.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n However, as we previously mentioned, there was a minor issue with this assertion. The contributions were not from the infamous Jeffrey Epstein. They were actually from a New York-based doctor sharing the same name, made in 2020, after the Jeffrey Epstein in question passed away in 2019.<\/p>\n
