Former First Lady Michelle Obama made a casual remark about being single during a recent episode of her podcast, fueling ongoing speculation about a possible strain in her marriage to former President Barack Obama.<\/p>\n

Michelle was joined by her brother, Craig Robinson, and Airbnb co-founder and CEO Brian Chesky on the latest episode of her show, IMO [In My Opinion], when she appeared to express a hint of personal interest in the tech executive.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, I have to say, Brian, if I\u2019m a single girl out there and I find out that Brian Chesky is single and I could like stay in his house -\u201d she began before Robinson cut in.<\/p>\n

\u201cHere she goes, right to the relationship!\u201d Robinson said, adding: \u201cBrian, you don\u2019t have to feel pressure.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chesky, however, played right along, noting, \u201cHer and her husband have tried to set me up before.\u201d<\/p>\n

That led the former first lady to say she was \u201cvery invested in Brian\u2019s love life,\u201d to which he said he \u201cappreciated.\u201d<\/p>\n

The unusual exchange comes amid persistent speculation about the state of Michelle and Barack Obama\u2019s marriage\u2014fueled in part by the former First Lady\u2019s notable absences from both President Donald Trump\u2019s inauguration and the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter.<\/p>\n

Adding to the chatter, Barack Obama recently acknowledged that he is in a \u201cdeep deficit with my wife\u201d and has been working to plan enjoyable activities for the two of them. Michelle, for her part, has publicly voiced frustrations with her husband, citing his past habit of being late and his tendency to avoid meaningful conversations with his golf buddies, DailyMail.com reported.<\/p>\n

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson has since focused on those remarks, telling fellow podcaster Megyn Kelly that the former First Lady \u201creally dislikes her husband and it\u2019s super obvious.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not just saying that to be catty\u2026 I think I\u2019m trying to feel compassion for her but her hostility toward the guy is unbelievable,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The former Fox News star then went on to claim \u201cthere\u2019s nothing more destabilizing than an unhappy marriage.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelly, herself a Fox News alumna, agreed with Carlson, adding that \u201ceverything Michelle says about her husband is negative.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI almost never say negative things about Doug,\u201d Kelly said of her own husband. \u201cHe\u2019s not perfect, but when I think about him, I don\u2019t immediately go to whatever is negative. I go to what\u2019s positive and what I love about him.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, Michelle dismissed rumors of marital trouble during a recent appearance on a podcast hosted by entrepreneur and investor Steven Bartlett.<\/p>\n

When Bartlett raised the ongoing speculation\u2014specifically pointing to her absence from Donald Trump\u2019s inauguration, which some interpreted as a sign of a rift\u2014he noted that it fueled talk of a possible split, with some suggesting, \u201cthere\u2019s an issue with you and Barack, there\u2019s a divorce coming.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLet me tell you, he would know it,\u201d Michelle said, pointing a finger at her brother. \u201cAnd everybody would know it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I were having problems with my husband, everybody would know about it,\u201d she said with a laugh.<\/p>\n

Robinson joked, \u201cIf they were having a problem, I\u2019d be doing a podcast with him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Calling Barack her \u201cperson,\u201d Michelle then added, \u201cThe beauty of my husband and our partnership is that neither one of us was ever really, ever going to quit at it, because that\u2019s not who we are. And I know that about him. He knows that about me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Michelle noted further that many young people give up on marriage too quickly, partly because they\u2019ve been misled by an unrealistic image of a perfect relationship between her and Barack.<\/p>\n

\u201cI talk about these things because I think that people give up too quickly on marriage,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
