President Donald Trump on Tuesday celebrated congressional passage of a bipartisan bill forcing the release of the long-sealed Jeffrey Epstein files, reaffirming he intends to sign the measure while declaring victory for what he called a \u201cGreat Big Beautiful Bill\u201d that caps a wave of Republican wins.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t care when the Senate passes the House Bill, whether tonight, or at some other time in the near future, I just don\u2019t want Republicans to take their eyes off all of the Victories that we\u2019ve had,\u201d Trump said in a statement posted to Truth Social. \u201cClosed Borders, No Men in Women\u2019s Sports, ending DEI, stopping Biden\u2019s record-setting inflation, the biggest tax and regulation cuts in history, stopping eight wars, rebuilding our military, being respected by every country in the world \u2026 and even delivering a huge defeat to the Democrats on the shutdown. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!\u201d<\/p>\n

The president\u2019s remarks came shortly before the Senate voted to approve the bill compelling the Justice Department to release all non-classified materials related to Epstein within 30 days, including investigative files, correspondence, and evidence logs. The measure passed the House overwhelmingly on Tuesday, following Trump\u2019s abrupt reversal earlier this week urging Republicans to vote for it.<\/p>\n

During an Oval Office event Monday, Trump was asked directly whether he would sign the legislation. \u201cSure I would,\u201d he said. \u201cThe Democrats were Epstein\u2019s friends \u2014 all of them. And it\u2019s a hoax, the whole thing is a hoax. But I\u2019ll sign it, and I think it\u2019s going to be much worse for the Democrats than for anyone else.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s endorsement helped push the bill across the finish line after initial hesitation among GOP leadership. Speaker Mike Johnson had attempted to make last-minute changes and reportedly considered urging a veto, but several key Republicans broke ranks and joined Democrats to advance the measure.<\/p>\n

Under the legislation, the Justice Department must disclose its Epstein-related records within 30 days of Trump\u2019s signature, with limited redactions to protect victims\u2019 privacy.<\/p>\n

The bipartisan effort gained momentum after House Democrats released partial communications earlier this month that referenced Trump, prompting the White House to accuse them of \u201cselective leaks\u201d intended to smear the president. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said at the time that Trump \u201ckicked Epstein out of his club decades ago for being a creep\u201d and had \u201cno involvement whatsoever\u201d in Epstein\u2019s crimes.<\/p>\n

The Senate\u2019s final approval also came as scrutiny grew over Virgin Islands Delegate Stacey Plaskett, a former House impeachment manager, whose communications with Epstein surfaced in the newly released records. Plaskett admitted in a CNN interview Wednesday that she had exchanged messages with Epstein during a 2019 congressional hearing but insisted it was part of her effort to \u201cget information to get at the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Plaskett narrowly avoided censure in the House Tuesday night, with lawmakers voting 214-209 against removing her from the Intelligence Committee.<\/p>\n

Once Trump signs the bill \u2014 a move expected within days \u2014 the Justice Department will be required to begin the public release process by late December. Officials said the disclosure will include portions of the bureau\u2019s investigative files, financial records, and correspondence with Epstein\u2019s associates, with names of victims and sensitive details redacted.<\/p>\n

The move represents one of the largest forced transparency actions in modern federal history and could shed new light on how Epstein cultivated relationships across politics, business, and entertainment before his 2019 arrest and death in federal custody.<\/p>\n
