Former White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre appeared caught off guard when MSNBC anchor Elise Jordan questioned her about former President Joe Biden\u2019s \u201cmental acuity\u201d during an interview on \u201cThe Weekend: Primetime\u201d on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

Jordan asked whether Jean-Pierre regretted criticizing Special Counsel Robert Hur following the release of his 2024 report, which raised concerns about Biden\u2019s memory and cognitive ability.<\/p>\n

Citing Biden\u2019s widely scrutinized June 2024 debate with former President Donald Trump, Jordan pressed Jean-Pierre on why she had dismissed Hur\u2019s findings at the time as \u201cgratuitous\u201d and disconnected from \u201creality.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cRobert Hur was unemployable for a period because of the attacks from the Democrats and from the White House that you were at the podium leading,\u201d Jordan said. \u201cHave you apologized to Robert Hur?\u201d<\/p>\n

The question left Jean-Pierre visibly stunned as she struggled for an answer.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean\u2026look\u2026 what I can say to you is, I saw the president every single day. It wasn\u2019t one-offs, it wasn\u2019t once in a while, I saw him every day,\u201d Jean-Pierre responded.<\/p>\n

As Jean-Pierre continued to stuggle, Jordan hopped back in to press the former Biden official further on the subject of Hur, noting that she had \u201cpretty sharp comments\u201d about the onetime special counsel and asking again if she had regrets about what she had said at the time.<\/p>\n

Jean-Pierre said flatly that she did not have regrets, claiming again that she saw Biden wake up every day, for years, \u201cvery zeroed in and focused on\u201d delivering for the American public \u2013 despite the fact that he obviously struggled to be coherent on multiple occasions.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was called into the Oval Office on a daily basis. I traveled with him for 95% of the time,\u201d Jean-Pierre said. \u201cAnd so, I\u2019m speaking for myself here. I\u2019m speaking for what I saw, and that was why I pushed back.\u201d<\/p>\n
