Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez\u2014rumored to be eyeing a 2028 presidential run\u2014attacked President Donald Trump when rallying for New York City mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-1\">\n<div id=\"e1c09a52-67a1-44a3-a58e-fc2bf67380c6\" class=\"_ap_apex_ad\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>During a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/5574617-ocasio-cortez-sanders-mamdani-rally\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rally<\/a>\u00a0in New York City, AOC\u00a0named Trump and suggested a Mamdani victory would have implications beyond just New York.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe election of Zohran is as important as our cause today,\u201d Ocasio-Cortez said at the rally. \u201cChild care, buses, rent, and our rights, here in New York City \u2014 it is the jewel and the center of all that is possible in America.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd on Nov. 4,\u201d she said, \u201cwe will prove it to the world, and we will prove it to the nation, and we will send a loud message to President Donald Trump that his authoritarianism is no good here.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-2\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<p>Ocasio-Cortez touched on the broader implications of the election and addressed Trump directly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is America, New York City. Don\u2019t let them tell you any different. Don\u2019t let them tell you that we are the exception. We are the rule. We are the standard. Ordinary people, working class people, Black and white and Latino, Asian, gay and straight, coming together to take on the oligarchy that is Trump\u2019s worst nightmare,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n<p>Mamdani and Trump have clashed at various points throughout the general election campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Late last month, the president warned that Mamdani, if elected mayor, \u201cis going to have problems with Washington like no Mayor in the history of our once great city.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-10\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<p>\u201cSelf proclaimed New York City Communist, Zohran Mamdani, who is running for Mayor, will prove to be one of the best things to ever happen to our great Republican Party,\u201d Trump said on Truth Social last month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRemember, he needs the money from me, as President, in order to fulfill all of his fake communist promises. He won\u2019t be getting any of it, so what\u2019s the point of voting for him?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>An expos\u00e9 published Monday lays out in detail how Zohran Mamdani, who is currently leading in the race for the mayor of New York City, got his start and rose to become the face of the left-wing socialist movement in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>Fox News notes that Mamdani\u2019s rise has come \u201ceven while campaigning with radical imams, some of whom have supported terrorists and terrorist financiers,\u201d and has been greatly assisted with millions in donations from groups associated with leftist billionaire George Soros and radical anti-Semite Linda Sarsour.<\/p>\n<p>A database of 110 groups supporting New York Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani reveals a closely connected network of organizations that identify as Muslim or socialist, working alongside 76 Democratic Party affiliates, allied groups, and labor unions, Fox noted.<\/p>\n<p>Two networks\u2014activist Linda Sarsour\u2019s MPower organizations and a coalition known as Emgage\u2014play central roles in this political alliance.<\/p>\n<p>According to tax filings, MPower and Emgage have received nearly $2.5 million in recent years from billionaire George Soros\u2019 Open Society philanthropies.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-12\">\n<div data-delay=\"4000\" data-block=\"12\">\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cWe fund a range of civil society organizations that work to deepen civic engagement through peaceful democratic participation, counter discrimination including against Muslim Americans and advance human rights,\u201d a spokesperson for Open Society Foundations told Fox News Digital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe grants that you cite all occurred years before the mayoral race, and we are a nonpartisan organization that does not fund political candidates and their campaigns,\u201d the spokesperson added.<\/p>\n<p>MPower and Emgage are part of a close-knit coalition of roughly 30 ethnic and religious organizations that includes CAIR Action \u2014 the political arm of the Council on American-Islamic Relations \u2014 as well as the Islamic Circle of North America, the Muslim Action Coalition, the Yemeni American Merchants Association, the Bangladeshi American Advocacy Group, and Desis Rising Up and Moving.<\/p>\n<p>These groups have actively supported Mamdani\u2019s campaign efforts through coordinated social media outreach, canvassing operations, and voter mobilization initiatives, Fox reported.<\/p>\n<p>Collectively, the organizations have combined annual revenues of roughly $24 million and have supported Mamdani\u2019s campaign through endorsements, fundraising, social media promotion, and voter outreach.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0Getty Images This article may contain commentary which reflects the author&#8217;s opinion.
