Hakeem Jeffries \u2018Warns\u2019 Donors Who Are Backing Trump\u2019s White House Ballroom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Democrats post-2024 continue to demonstrate two things after getting their butts handed to them by Republicans: 1) They haven\u2019t learned a single lesson from that walloping; and 2) They\u2019re tripling down on the lunacy.<\/p>\n<p>Case in point: House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (who, by the way, should remain in the minority \u2013 we don\u2019t ever want him remotely close to the Oval Office).<\/p>\n<p>For context, Democrats have turned lawfare into a central pillar of their political strategy. Ever since President Trump left office in 2021, they\u2019ve made it their mission to weaponize the legal system against him \u2014 dragging him through endless investigations, indictments, and court battles in a desperate attempt to do through prosecution what they couldn\u2019t accomplish at the ballot box.<\/p>\n<p>New York Attorney General Letitia James built her career on one promise \u2014 to \u201cget\u201d Donald Trump. She bragged about it, campaigned on it, and then tried to make good on it by targeting the former president\u2019s businesses and even moving to seize his properties.<\/p>\n<p>Pollster Frank Luntz warned her that such a move would only boost Trump\u2019s popularity. He was right. Now, in a twist of irony, James herself is facing charges of mortgage fraud.<\/p>\n<p>And suddenly, the Left is crying \u201cweaponization of the justice system.\u201d That\u2019s rich. For years, Democrats lectured America that \u201cno one is above the law\u201d while gleefully weaponizing prosecutors, judges, and bureaucrats against their political opponents.<\/p>\n<p>What they really meant, of course, was that Republicans aren\u2019t above the law \u2014 Democrats, apparently, are untouchable.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of learning their lesson, Democrats are doubling down, using the same corrupt tactics that turned our justice system into a political hit squad. It\u2019s a baseless smear straight out of the Democratic playbook.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMore likely, this is part of what Donald Trump has been doing since day one of his presidency: running the largest pay-to-play scheme in the history of the country. And probably soliciting donations from people who\u2019ve got business before the United States government,\u201d Jeffries said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd all of this is going to have to be investigated. It will. All of this will have to be uncovered. It will. And these people are going to be held accountable, no matter how long it takes,\u201d Jeffries continued. \u201cAnd that\u2019s a warning to all of these people participating in this scheming to manipulate taxpayer dollars and, of course, to destroy the people\u2019s house. The White House belongs to the American people. It doesn\u2019t belong to Donald Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Uh-huh.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s not forget \u2014 75 million Americans voted for Donald Trump. It\u2019s their White House too. Yet Jeffries went on MSNBC and effectively threatened private citizens for making lawful donations to improve that very building. It\u2019s an outrageous act of political theater meant to bully Trump supporters and score cheap headlines.<\/p>\n<p>And the whole thing is absurd on its face. Presidents throughout history have made changes and additions to the White House. President Trump\u2019s proposed ballroom \u2014 announced months ago \u2014 is no different.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cdestruction\u201d Jeffries is wailing about? It\u2019s an overhang on the East Wing, not the residence, not the West Wing. The ballroom will be a permanent addition for future administrations to use. Trump isn\u2019t building himself a personal palace \u2014 he\u2019s improving an institution that belongs to the American people.<\/p>\n<p>Jeffries\u2019 meltdown isn\u2019t about architecture or ethics. It\u2019s about keeping the outrage machine fed \u2014 because without Trump, Democrats have nothing else to talk about \u2013 including Bill and Hillary Clinton, who literally stole around $28,000 worth of stuff from the White House when they left.<\/p>\n<p>But this is all the Democrats have left. They can\u2019t run on policy because their policies have failed. They can\u2019t run on results because their cities are collapsing and the border is wide open.
