CNN\u2019s own data analyst, Harry Enten, broke down the numbers and acknowledged that when it comes to public perception, \u201cit\u2019s a different world\u201d \u2014 one that\u2019s looking better and better for the Trump White House. Despite Democrats\u2019 attempts to pin the blame on him, it\u2019s clear their shutdown strategy is backfiring.<\/p>\n
This is not how Democrats expected things to go. They assumed Trump would eventually fold \u2014 a laughable idea to anyone who\u2019s been paying attention. There was never a chance he\u2019d bow to Chuck Schumer and \u201cTemu Obama.\u201d<\/p>\n
Democrats triggered this shutdown to strong-arm another $1.5 trillion for illegal alien healthcare and handouts like NPR funding \u2014 a political shakedown disguised as \u201cgoverning.\u201d The problem? Voters didn\u2019t want a shutdown, and they certainly didn\u2019t want more reckless spending. Democrats managed to give them both, and on issues that couldn\u2019t be more unpopular.<\/p>\n
