House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries took aim at President Donald Trump\u2019s Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Friday, unleashing a barrage of personal insults during remarks to reporters as tensions mounted over the ongoing government shutdown.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ve got Karoline Leavitt, who\u2019s sick. She\u2019s out of control,\u201d Jeffries said. \u201cAnd I\u2019m not sure whether she\u2019s just demented, ignorant, a stone-cold liar, or all of the above,\u201d Fox News\u00a0reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jeffries\u2019 comments were in response to Leavitt\u2019s earlier claim that the Democratic Party \u201cconsists of terrorists, violent criminals, and undocumented immigrants.\u201d He accused the Trump administration of spreading misinformation during a critical time for the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe notion that an official White House spokesperson would say that the Democratic Party consists of terrorists, violent criminals, and undocumented immigrants makes no sense,\u201d Jeffries continued. \u201cThis is what the American people are getting from the Trump administration in the middle of a shutdown.\u201d<\/p>\n
