Brian Kemp, has long maintained that Georgia Republicans engage in voter suppression\u2014a claim that helped drive her national fundraising and activism profile.<\/p>\n<p>However, her organizations, including NGP and its affiliate, Fair Fight Action, have faced growing criticism for questionable spending and political entanglements.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, attention has also turned to Abrams\u2019 involvement with another nonprofit that recently drew federal scrutiny.<\/p>\n<p>Power Forward Communities, a new coalition in which Abrams serves as senior counsel, was awarded a $2 billion grant from the Environmental Protection Agency in 2024 under the Biden administration\u2019s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund.<\/p>\n<p>The Washington Free Beacon\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/trump-administration\/billions-doge-found-parked-at-bank-earmarked-for-stacey-abrams-backed-green-group\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>\u00a0earlier this year that Power Forward Communities had only $100 in reported revenue in its first three months of operation before receiving the multibillion-dollar grant.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-12\">\n<div data-delay=\"4000\" data-block=\"12\">\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, appointed by President Trump, has since launched a review of the grant program, calling it an example of \u201cwaste and abuse\u201d under the Biden administration\u2019s climate agenda.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s extremely concerning that an organization that reported just $100 in revenue in 2023 was chosen to receive $2 billion,\u201d Zeldin said in a statement. \u201cThat\u2019s 20 million times its reported revenue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In Georgia, the closure of the New Georgia Project comes as the state continues to reevaluate its election oversight and campaign finance rules in the wake of years of partisan battles over voting rights.<\/p>\n<p>While NGP credited itself with \u201cexpanding civic participation,\u201d critics argue that its shutdown confirms long-standing concerns about the group\u2019s political bias and financial transparency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a long-overdue reckoning,\u201d said Georgia State Sen. Randy Robertson. \u201cThe New Georgia Project was supposed to help people vote.
