Longtime Trump adviser Corey Lewandowski said Wednesday that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents would be deployed at the 2026 Super Bowl following the announcement that singer Bad Bunny is scheduled to headline the halftime show.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is nowhere you can provide safe haven to people who are in this country illegally,\u201d Lewandowski said on \u201cThe Benny Show.\u201d \u201cNot the Super Bowl and nowhere else. We will find you and apprehend you and put you in a detention facility and deport you. Know that is a very real situation under this administration, which is contrary to how it used to be.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bad Bunny, a three-time Grammy Award winner, has been an outspoken critic of ICE operations. He omitted U.S. stops from his most recent tour, citing concerns that fans could risk detention by immigration authorities at his concerts.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut there was the issue of \u2014 like, f\u2014ing ICE could be outside [my concert]. And it\u2019s something that we were talking about and very concerned about,\u201d he told i-D last month.<\/p>\n

Lewandowski, who advises the Department of Homeland Security, also criticized the NFL for choosing Bad Bunny as the halftime show performer, describing the artist as a polarizing figure.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s so shameful they\u2019ve decided to pick somebody who seems to hate America so much to represent them at the Halftime Show,\u201d Lewandowski said. \u201cWe should be trying to be inclusive, not exclusive. There are plenty of great bands and entertainment people who could be playing at that show that would be bringing people together and not separating them.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf there are illegal aliens, I don\u2019t care if it\u2019s a concert for Johnny Smith or Bad Bunny or anybody else. We\u2019re going to do enforcement everywhere. We are going to make Americans safe. That is a directive from the president. If you\u2019re in this country illegally, go home,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

A DHS spokesperson\u00a0told Fox News<\/a>\u00a0regarding the situation: \u201cThere is no safe haven for violent criminal illegal aliens in the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n

Former Indy and NASCAR champ Danica Patrick was among several right-leaning figures who blasted the NFL\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n

In response to a social media post about the Puerto Rican rapper, whose real name is Benito Antonio Mart\u00ednez Ocasio, Patrick criticized the NFL\u2019s decision to feature him at the Super Bowl halftime show in Santa Clara, California, calling it inappropriate for what he described as one of the most-watched television events in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh fun,\u201d the former race car driver said on X. \u201cNo songs in English should not be allowed at one of America\u2019s highest rated television events of the year \u2026 not just for sports.\u201d<\/p>\n

Patrick, 43, has openly shared her political views in recent years. She campaigned for Donald Trump during his 2024 presidential run, despite previously not voting in elections.<\/p>\n

In response to criticism, NFL executive Jon Barker issued a statement defending the league\u2019s decision, emphasizing the artist\u2019s global reach and popularity.<\/p>\n

\u201cBad Bunny represents the global energy and cultural vibrancy that define today\u2019s music scene,\u201d Barker said. \u201cAs one of the most influential and streamed artists in the world, his unique ability to bridge genres, languages, and audiences makes him an exciting and natural choice to take the Super Bowl halftime stage,\u201d Barker claimed.<\/p>\n

The New York Post reported that the NFL had been pursuing pop icon Taylor Swift for the halftime performance but it didn\u2019t come to fruition.<\/p>\n
