According to Just the News, this new video material represents almost 208 days of continuous viewing. The House Administration Oversight Subcommittee has made it available for public access.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-1\">\n<div id=\"e1c09a52-67a1-44a3-a58e-fc2bf67380c6\" class=\"_ap_apex_ad\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cHouse Republicans again commend subcommittee Chairman Barry Loudermilk and the entire Committee on House Administration for their ongoing commitment to ensuring that there is full transparency surrounding the events of January 6,\u201d Johnson said in a statement, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>On November 2023, Johnson announced his plan to make the January 6, 2021, tapes available to the American public. He released 90 hours of footage. However, there seems to be more video than what was released on Friday. The subcommittee promised to release the remaining footage online as soon as possible so that every American can access it.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-2\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<p>Some of the new videos released on Friday were previously released, but they were blurry. They have since been reloaded to provide better clarity. The first batch is already available on our Rumble page.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, in a\u00a0ruling\u00a0that could have far-reaching implications for perhaps hundreds of people arrested following the Jan. 6 protest, a federal appeals court in Washington, D.C., ruled last week that at least some of them were \u201cimproperly\u201d sentenced.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-10\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<p>The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit determined that defendant and former Air Force officer Larry Brock\u2019s sentence was flawed as it wrongly incorporated charges of \u201cinterference with the administration of justice.\u201d Circuit Judge Millett, the author of the court\u2019s opinion, stated that interference with Congress\u2019 certification of the electoral votes in the 2020 presidential election does not warrant a sentence enhancement, Fox News\u00a0reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBrock challenges both the district court\u2019s interpretation of Section 1512(c)(2)\u2019s elements and the sufficiency of the evidence to support that conviction. He also challenges the district court\u2019s application of the three-level sentencing enhancement for interfering with the \u2018administration of justice,\u2019\u201d Millett wrote.<\/p>\n<p>The appeals court affirmed Brock\u2019s conviction but disagreed with how he was sentenced, noting: \u201cAs for Brock\u2019s sentence, we hold that the \u2018administration of justice\u2019 enhancement does not apply to interference with the legislative process of certifying electoral votes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While other aspects of Larry Brock\u2019s conviction were upheld, the higher court nevertheless ruled it would \u201cvacate Brock\u2019s sentence\u201d while remanding the case back to the district court to resentence the single \u201cinterference\u201d charge.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-12\">\n<div data-delay=\"4000\" data-block=\"12\">\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Other Jan. 6 defendants received longer sentences under the same enhancement, and now those cases could potentially be overturned as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLarry Brock participated in the violent January 6th riot at the\u00a0United States Capitol\u00a0that forced the evacuation of members of Congress and their staff and prevented Congress\u2019s certification of the 2020 presidential election until the next day. After a bench trial, the court convicted Brock of six crimes, including corruptly obstructing Congress\u2019s certification of the electoral count under 18 U.S.C. \u00a7 1512(c)(2),\u201d Judge Millet wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt sentencing, the district court applied a three level sentencing enhancement to Brock\u2019s Section 1512(c)(2) conviction on the ground that Brock\u2019s conduct resulted in \u2018substantial interference with the administration of justice,\u2019\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0Getty Images This article may contain commentary which reflects the author\u2019s opinion.
