Failed Daily Show host Trevor Noah is catching major backlash after his latest stand-up act included a tasteless bit joking about what he found \u201cfunny\u201d in the assassination of Charlie Kirk.<\/p>\n
In a\u00a0YouTube clip<\/a>, Trevor Noah is seen performing at New York\u2019s Comedy Cellar, riffing about the murder of the Turning Point USA founder. Kirk was assassinated on September 10th at Utah Valley University by a suspect authorities say was heavily influenced by far-left ideology.<\/p>\n Trevor Noah, the South African \u201ccomedian\u201d best known for his failed stint on The Daily Show, thought it was hilarious that Kirk was gunned down while speaking about the Second Amendment.<\/p>\n \u201cMeanwhile, here comedians are [\u2026] themselves,\u201d Noah said. \u201c\u2018Don\u2019t say anything about Charlie Kirk.\u2019 I wasn\u2019t going to say anything about him\u2026.about Charlie Kirk\u2026 \u2018But don\u2019t. There\u2019s nothing funny about it.’\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAh, now you\u2019ve tested me. I mean, there\u2019s nothing funny about it?\u201d he added, and the room laughed. \u201cI\u2019m sure there\u2019s something funny about it. The guy was shot while defending guns. I\u2019m not even writing that as a joke, as a human, you have to admit that is an incongruous, funny thing that happens.\u201d<\/p>\n Noah then mimics the sound of a gunshot as he describes how Kirk was speaking on stage when he was shot. \u201cThat would be like if the captain of the Titanic was giving an impassioned speech about icebergs right before it happened\u2026,\u201d Noah went on to say, while trying to claim both were funny and not funny.<\/p>\n Needless to say, many people \u2013 those with consciences who aren\u2019t competing for \u201cWorst Human Being Ever\u201d \u2013 were quick to condemn the bit.<\/p>\n \u201cLeftist \u2018comedian\u2019 Trevor Noah just said he thinks it was \u2018funny\u2019 that Charlie Kirk was shot while defending guns,\u201d one person\u00a0wrote<\/a>. \u201cThis is the modern left. \u201d<\/p>\n Another\u00a0added<\/a>, \u201cTrevor Noah jokes about Charlie Kirk\u2019s assassination during his standup set.
