{"id":15860,"date":"2025-10-06T10:51:57","date_gmt":"2025-10-06T10:51:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cndailynews.store\/?p=15860"},"modified":"2025-10-06T10:51:57","modified_gmt":"2025-10-06T10:51:57","slug":"ice-arrests-illegal-migrant-accused-of-decapitating-illinois-woman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cndailynews.store\/?p=15860","title":{"rendered":"ICE Arrests Illegal Migrant Accused of Decapitating Illinois Woman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Immigration authorities in Chicago arrested a 52-year-old Mexican illegal immigrant accused of decapitating a missing Illinois woman and storing her body in a bleach-filled storage container.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-1\">\n<div id=\"e1c09a52-67a1-44a3-a58e-fc2bf67380c6\" class=\"_ap_apex_ad\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Jose Luis Mendoza-Gonzalez, a resident of Waukegan, Illinois, was taken into custody in April and charged with concealing a corpse, abuse of a corpse, and obstruction of justice, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).<\/p>\n<p>Despite the severity of the charges, Lake County Judge Randie Bruno immediately ordered Mendoza-Gonzalez\u2019s release from custody following his initial court appearance.<\/p>\n<p>He was re-arrested Saturday afternoon at a market in Chicago by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and is currently being held in ICE custody, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-2\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<p>In April, police in Waukegan, Illinois, discovered the body of 37-year-old Megan Bos\u2014who had been reported missing on March 9\u2014in a container located in the yard of Jose Luis Mendoza-Gonzalez.<\/p>\n<p>According to her family, Bos had disappeared in February.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-7\">Advertisement<\/p>\n<div id=\"as5808\" data-title=\"You Might Also Like\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Mendoza-Gonzalez is accused of keeping her body on his property for nearly two months and abusing her corpse, Fox News\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/ice-arrests-illegal-immigrant-accused-decapitating-illinois-woman-after-judge-set-him-free\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>DHS officials told FOX News that Bos had been decapitated and her body was discovered in a storage container filled with bleach.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-10\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<p>\u201cIt is absolutely repulsive this monster walked free on Illinois\u2019 streets after allegedly committing such a heinous crime,\u201d a DHS spokesperson told the outlet. \u201cMegan Bos and her family will have justice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Following Mendoza-Gonzalez\u2019s release in April, Antioch Mayor Scott Gartner shredded the laws that permitted the suspected criminal alien to walk free, according to a report from FOX 32 Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was shocked to find out literally the next day that the person that they had arrested for this had been released from prison under the SAFE-T Act less than, detained less, I think, than 48 hours,\u201d Gartner said. \u201cThere\u2019s other extenuating circumstances in this case. Not only the type of crime, how long the crime was concealed, the fact that the person that was arrested for this is not a U.S. citizen, and, you know, can maybe [flee] the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>State Rep. Tom Weber (R) expressed concern about Mendoza-Gonzalez\u2019s release in April, Fox noted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSomeone that hid their body in a garbage can for 51 days after leaving it in the basement for two days, after not calling 911 [and] breaking a phone. Is this a non-detainable offense?\u201d Weber said. \u201cShould we not find out, wait for a toxicology report, anything?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), meanwhile, said his agency will arrest anyone found to be in the country illegally, regardless of whether they have a criminal record, while also stepping up enforcement against employers who hire unauthorized workers.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-12\">\n<div data-delay=\"4000\" data-block=\"12\">\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Todd Lyons emphasized in an interview with CBS News that the agency will focus its \u201climited resources\u201d on targeting and deporting \u201cthe worst of the worst,\u201d individuals in the U.S. who are also unlawfully present and have serious criminal backgrounds.<\/p>\n<p>However, Lyons made clear that even non-criminals living in the U.S. without legal status will be taken into custody during enforcement operations. He argued that so-called \u201csanctuary\u201d policies\u2014where states and cities limit cooperation between ICE and local law enforcement\u2014are forcing agents to enter communities to make arrests, since noncitizen inmates are not being turned over, CBS\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/ice-head-todd-lyons-agents-will-arrest-anyone-found-illegally-crack-down-on-employers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat\u2019s, again, frustrating for me is the fact that we would love to focus on these criminal aliens that are inside a jail facility,\u201d Lyons told Face the Nation\u2019s Margaret Brennan on Sunday. \u201cA local law enforcement agency, state agency, already deemed that person a public safety threat and arrested them, and they\u2019re in detention.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d much rather focus all of our limited resources on that to take them into custody, but we do have to go out into the community and make those arrests, and that\u2019s where you are seeing (that) increase\u201d in so-called \u201ccollateral\u201d arrests.<\/p>\n<p>If ICE encounters someone \u201cthat is here in the country illegally, we will take them into custody,\u201d Lyons said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Immigration authorities in Chicago arrested a 52-year-old Mexican illegal immigrant accused of decapitating a missing Illinois woman and storing her body in a bleach-filled storage container.
