Erika Kirk revealed why she has\u00a0forgiven the man who killed her husband<\/strong>, Charlie Kirk.<\/p>\n

On\u00a0September 10<\/strong>, the 31-year-old conservative commentator was shot while attending an event at\u00a0Utah Valley University<\/strong>\u00a0as part of his Turning Point USA comeback tour. His security team rushed him to the hospital, but he\u00a0tragically died<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Two days later, authorities arrested the suspected shooter,\u00a022-year-old Tyler Robinson<\/strong>. Robinson now faces charges including\u00a0aggravated murder, obstruction of justice, and felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A Message of Forgiveness<\/h3>\n

During Charlie Kirk\u2019s memorial on Sunday, Erika addressed the crowd, expressing her faith and compassion. She said her late husband wanted to\u00a0\u201chelp save young men, just like the one who took his life.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThat young man, that young man,\u201d she said. \u201cOn the cross, our Savior said: \u2018Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.\u2019 That man, that young man\u2014I forgive him. I forgive him because it was what Christ did, and it is what Charlie would do. The answer to hate is not hate. The gospel teaches us love. Always love. Love your enemies and those who persecute you.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cI saw the wound that ended his life. I felt everything he would expect me to feel\u2014shock, horror, and a heartache I didn\u2019t know existed. But there was something else too. Even in death, I saw the man I love\u2026 and on his lips, the faintest smile.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

She added that the doctor told her that even if Charlie had been shot\u00a0in the operating room<\/strong>, nothing could have saved him.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was no pain, no fear, no agony. One moment, Charlie was doing what he loved\u2014arguing and debating on campus, fighting for the gospel and truth in front of a big crowd. Then he blinked, and he saw his Savior in paradise.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
