The piece, titled “We Paid Some Etsy Witches to Curse Charlie Kirk,” detailed a ritual involving the burning of Kirk’s photograph. The anonymous author mused: “I can buy a curse as easily as I can buy a phone charger.”

The article was quickly removed after Kirk’s assassination. We do not endorse, encourage, or excuse political violence of any kind.”

Megyn Kelly revealed on her YouTube show Tuesday that Erika Kirk was “genuinely rattled” by the Jezebel article. Erika and Charlie were so concerned that they contacted a Catholic priest the night before the shooting to pray over him and attempt to undo the supposed curse.

“This is what I want the people at Jezebel to know,” Kelly said. “Erika and Charlie Kirk heard about these curses, and it really rattled Erika in particular. Why torture a family like this? A Christian, believing family. Why do this vile thing to a young couple?”

Priestess Lilin told the Daily Mail that her “sister,” a witch known as High Priestess Leamashtu, was the one who actually performed the ritual. While we cannot and would not claim responsibility for Mr. Kirk’s death, we do affirm that the magic we work with in our daily lives is very real.”

Kelly said Erika leaned on her Christian faith to process the ordeal. “She knew Christian teaching on this subject.
