The student who was debating with Charlie Kirk just before the conservative activist was shot and killed at Utah Valley University has spoken out about the tragedy and labeled the \u201csick f*cking psychos\u201d who were celebrating the murder.<\/p>\n
During a school event, Hunter Kozak, a math student at the college who has his own YouTube channel, asked Kirk about transgender mass shooters. A gunshot rang out as Kirk answered, hitting him in the neck and killing him.<\/p>\n
Kozak later discussed the event on social media and the reaction he was witnessing online in a video posted to X late Thursday.<\/p>\n
\u201cFirst off, you sick f*cking psychos that think this is the answer, I don\u2019t know what else to say. It\u2019s f*cking not. It\u2019s awful and a father doesn\u2019t have his kids anymore,\u201d Kozak began.<\/p>\n
He continued: \u201cCharlie had two kids and a wife. And, like, not to make this about me, but I have two kids and a wife and if my 1-year-old boy, like his 1-year-old will grow up without memories of his dad, it\u2019s a tragedy and it\u2019s hard to grapple with.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cAnd I\u2019m part of a community that\u2019s struggling to grapple with it right now.\u201d<\/p>\n
Speaking about the debate he was having with Kirk at the time, Kozak said \u201cthe point\u201d he \u201cwas trying to make is how peaceful the left was, right before he got shot.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThat only makes sense if we stay peaceful,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs much as I disagree with Charlie Kirk, I\u2019m on the record for how much I disagree with Charlie Kirk, but like, man, dude, he is still a human being. Have we forgotten that? Are we crazy? Like, I stand by so little of everything that he said, but one of the things that he stood by was conversation,\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n
Calling out any members of his own audience who he might find to be \u201csalivating\u201d over the murder, he warned them they were not welcome in the community he was \u201ctrying to build.\u201d<\/p>\n
