{"id":15113,"date":"2025-09-28T18:12:27","date_gmt":"2025-09-28T18:12:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cndailynews.store\/?p=15113"},"modified":"2025-09-28T18:12:27","modified_gmt":"2025-09-28T18:12:27","slug":"democrat-donor-activist-facing-decades-in-prison-in-fraud-plea-deal-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cndailynews.store\/?p=15113","title":{"rendered":"Democrat Donor, Activist Facing Decades In Prison In Fraud Plea Deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Another Democrat has been caught up in more fraud charges, according to a press release late last week from the Department of Justice.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-1\"><\/div>\n<p>Joseph Sanberg, a liberal activist and major Democrat donor, has \u201cagreed to plead guilty to two counts of wire fraud and faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison per count,\u201d according to the DOJ.<\/p>\n<p>Sanberg co-founded Aspiration Partners, Inc., a financial technology and sustainability services firm, and also served on its board of directors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor years, Joseph Sanberg used his position at Aspiration to deceive investors and lenders for his own benefit, causing his victims over $248 million in losses,\u201d said Acting Assistant Attorney General Matthew R. Galeotti of the Justice Department\u2019s Criminal Division in a statement.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-2\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe Criminal Division is committed to pursuing, charging, and convicting fraudsters like Sanberg, who cause significant harm to their victims and undermine our financial institutions,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Sanberg has donated to a number of left-wing organizations and Democratic candidates, including California Gov. Self-dealing and pay-to-play politics will not be tolerated in Los Angeles County,\u201d Hochman added.<\/p>\n<p>The DA\u2019s office added:<\/p>\n<p><em>The Los Angeles County District Attorney\u2019s Office has filed two new public corruption charges against Los Angeles City Councilmember Curren Price after uncovering evidence that the city\u2019s housing authority and LA Metro paid Price\u2019s wife more than $800,000 total at the same time Price voted to award the agencies multimillion-dollar contracts.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Curren De Mille Price Jr. has been the Los Angeles City Councilmember for the Ninth District since 2013. Like all other councilmembers, he is prohibited from having a financial interest associated with any project that comes before the City Council.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Price \u2026 was charged on June 13, 2023, in case BA515782 with five felony counts of embezzlement of government funds, three felony counts of perjury and two felony counts of conflict of interest.<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-12\">\n<div data-delay=\"4000\" data-block=\"12\">\n<div>\n<div id=\"e1c09a52-67a1-44a3-a58e-fc2bf67380c6\" class=\"_ap_apex_ad\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><em>The 10 felony counts allege that Del Richardson &amp; Associates, a company owned solely by Price\u2019s wife, Delbra Pettice Richardson, received payments totaling more than $150,000 between 2019 and 2021 from developers before he voted to approve projects.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Other Democrats are currently under legal threat, including another lawmaker from California.<\/p>\n<p>Grand juries in Virginia and Maryland are considering criminal indictments against New York Attorney General Letitia James and California Sen. Adam Schiff on claims that they faked property records to achieve preferential loan conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Attorney General Pam Bondi appointed Ed Martin as Special Attorney to oversee the prosecution of James and Schiff on charges of alleged mortgage fraud, bank fraud, and wire fraud \u2014 offenses that each carry potential 30-year prison sentences.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAttorney General Bondi and President Trump have given me a very serious mission. I am committed to going where the facts take me.
