The pressure is pushing working families closer to the breaking point,\u201d Schumer said, per The Hill.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHiring is down, prices are up, and families are paying thousands more a year because of Donald Trump\u2019s tariffs,\u201d Schumer continued. \u201cThe pain America is experiencing will only worsen as Republicans ignore the warning and continue cowering to Donald Trump. The first step is to admit the truth that Donald Trump\u2019s economic experiment has failed and reverse course.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-2\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<p>\u201cIn the coming weeks, Senate Democrats will force votes to reverse Donald Trump\u2019s damaging tariffs and we will see whose side Republicans are on,\u201d he added. \u201cI hope Republicans will choose wisely.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Hill reported that economists, generally speaking, were anticipating some 75,000 new jobs.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-7\">Advertisement<\/p>\n<div id=\"as5808\" data-title=\"You Might Also Like\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Senate Democrats have had limited success in challenging Trump\u2019s sweeping tariffs since he rolled them out early in his term. In April, the chamber passed a non-binding resolution to end the trade dispute with Canada, with four Republicans joining Democrats in support.<\/p>\n<p>Later that month, Democrats fell short in a bid to overturn Trump\u2019s sweeping \u201cLiberation Day\u201d tariffs after attendance problems left them without the votes to advance.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-10\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<p>Friday\u2019s release was also the first jobs report since Trump fired Bureau of Labor Statistics Director Erika McEntarfer, following July\u2019s report that included steep downward revisions.<\/p>\n<p>That said, the White House noted this week that Trump\u2019s tariffs are bringing in record revenue for the U.S. government.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn August, tariff revenues topped $31 billion \u2014 bringing the total to $158 billion this calendar year, or more than 2.5 times the revenue this time last year,\u201d\u00a0said\u00a0a White House press release.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven the left-wing Congressional Budget Office admits President Trump\u2019s tariffs will reduce total deficits by $4 trillion over the next decade,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, the White House\u00a0claimed\u00a0that more than half a million new jobs have been created since he took office, all from the private sector.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEmployment for native-born Americans has grown by 2.4+ million since January, accounting for ALL net job gains in President Trump\u2019s second term,\u201d said another release. \u201cThe Trump Administration is slashing job-killing regulations by reducing penalties on small businesses and eliminating ten regulations for every single new regulation created \u2014 empowering employers to grow and create good jobs.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-12\">\n<div data-delay=\"4000\" data-block=\"12\">\n<div>\n<div id=\"e1c09a52-67a1-44a3-a58e-fc2bf67380c6\" class=\"_ap_apex_ad\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>It added: \u201cSentiment for small businesses, which employ nearly half of American workers, is\u00a0at a five-month high.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s America First trade policy has spurred more than $8 trillion in new U.S. investment as companies move manufacturing and production back home, creating hundreds of thousands of jobs, the White House has also noted.<\/p>\n<p>The administration says Trump has secured trade deals with major partners covering over half of global GDP, generating hundreds of billions in new revenue and aiming to level the playing field for American workers.<\/p>\n<p>Wages for blue-collar workers are up 1.4% over the past year through the first seven months of Trump\u2019s second term \u2014 the second-fastest start-of-term increase on record, the administration also said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter housing costs soared as the Biden let millions of illegal immigrants into the country, the average rate for a 30-year fixed mortgage has fallen to a ten-month low,\u201d said a release. \u201cAmericans traveling by car for Labor Day weekend are seeing the lowest gas prices in at least five years, while domestic airfares have also fallen to five-year lows.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) vowed Friday that Democrats \u201cwill force votes\u201d on President Trump\u2019s tariffs after a disappointing August jobs report showed just 22,000 jobs added and unemployment &hellip;
