{"id":14851,"date":"2025-09-26T22:11:49","date_gmt":"2025-09-26T22:11:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cndailynews.store\/?p=14851"},"modified":"2025-09-26T22:11:49","modified_gmt":"2025-09-26T22:11:49","slug":"report-federal-law-officers-warned-of-possible-attack-in-dc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cndailynews.store\/?p=14851","title":{"rendered":"Report: Federal Law Officers Warned Of Possible Attack In DC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Federal authorities were alerted Thursday to a possible plot targeting law enforcement officers in Washington, D.C., by a group seeking the release of detainees, according to a Thursday report.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-1\"><\/div>\n<p>A federal source\u00a0told Just the News\u00a0that the alert warned of a possible attack as soon as Friday by a group calling itself the \u201cFLARE Coalition,\u201d reportedly operating near Union Station and Columbus Circle.<\/p>\n<p>According to the notification, the group planned to disable federal vehicles by slashing tires and breaking windows, attack officers \u2014 including Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel \u2014 with fireworks and improvised explosives, and use chemical agents to \u201cneutralize federal agents and take duty weapons.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>FLARE has recently\u00a0urged Congress\u00a0to release the unredacted files related to Jeffrey Epstein, to impeach President Donald Trump and remove him from office.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-2\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<p>The group has described itself as a \u201c24\/7 occupation in front of D.C.\u2019s Union Station,\u201d and as a \u201cnon-violent anti-fascist collective working toward and beyond the impeachment, conviction, and removal of President Donald Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The threat follows Trump\u2019s federal takeover of Washington, D.C., last month, a move that expires next week without congressional approval.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-7\">Advertisement<\/p>\n<div id=\"as5808\" data-title=\"You Might Also Like\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The takeover created the Safe and Beautiful Task Force, deployed National Guard troops, and placed the Metropolitan Police Department under federal control in an effort to curb crime and clean up the city, Just the News added.<\/p>\n<p>There were no further details as of Friday morning, Conservative Brief confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s federalization of Washington, D.C., on the heels of declaring a \u201ccrime emergency,\u201d was met with mixed reactions, but it has also\u00a0launched a conversation\u00a0among residents and members of the media about a subject that, for years, has been hidden in plain view.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-10\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<p>The move has been so successful that DC\u2019s Democratic mayor, Muriel Bowser, ordered the city to continue working with federal law enforcement officers, even after Trump\u2019s takeover is set to expire next week.<\/p>\n<p>Bowser signed the order Tuesday, saying that city officials will \u201censure coordination with federal law enforcement to the maximum extent allowable by law within the District\u201d even when the public safety emergency Trump proclaimed over crime in D.C. last month ends. The order has no expiration date and takes effect right away.<\/p>\n<p>Trump administration officials said in the weeks since their takeover, more than 1,000 people have been arrested in D.C.<\/p>\n<p>The administration has bragged about a further decrease in crime during the takeover.<\/p>\n<p>In a Monday post on Truth Social, Trump referred to the city as \u201ca crime-free zone\u201d and commended Bowser for helping with the crackdown. In her order, the mayor stated that since Trump federalized the city\u2019s police department, \u201cviolent crime in the District has noticeably decreased.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a statement posted on social media, Bowser said that she issued the order \u201cto provide the pathway forward beyond the Presidential emergency.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-12\">\n<div data-delay=\"4000\" data-block=\"12\">\n<div>\n<div id=\"e1c09a52-67a1-44a3-a58e-fc2bf67380c6\" class=\"_ap_apex_ad\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Federal agencies have embedded with local police, assisting in arrests, searches, and warrant executions while patrolling the city in unmarked vehicles, CNN noted.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, immigration enforcement surged. Since August 7, federal officials have arrested about 300 individuals in the district without legal immigration status \u2014 more than ten times the typical weekly number of ICE arrests in the city,\u00a0CNN found.<\/p>\n<p>During the first six months of Trump\u2019s current term, ICE averaged about 12 arrests per week in Washington, according to data from the Deportation Data Project at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law.<\/p>\n<p>White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson stated that the media was attempting to dismiss the \u201cexceptional results\u201d of Trump\u2019s efforts in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe drops in crime are not \u2018moderate,\u2019 they are life-changing for the countless of DC residents and visitors who have not been murdered, robbed, carjacked, or victims of overall violent crime in the last week,\u201d Jackson said. \u201cThe priority of this operation remains getting violent criminals off the streets \u2014 regardless of immigration status.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Federal authorities were alerted Thursday to a possible plot targeting law enforcement officers in Washington, D.C., by a group seeking the release of detainees, according to a Thursday report.
