California Gov. Gavin Newsom can\u2019t seem to mind his own collapsing backyard. Homeless camps, rising crime, and sky-high taxes are strangling the Golden State after decades of Democrat misrule \u2014 yet Newsom is too busy wagging his finger at red states to notice the disaster he\u2019s presiding over. Instead of fixing California\u2019s mess, he\u2019s made it a hobby to meddle in Republicans\u2019 business.<\/p>\n
Newsom\u2019s been at this game for years \u2014 playing the role of Joe Biden\u2019s \u201cbackup plan\u201d by picking fights with red-state governors. His favorite target? Florida\u2019s Ron DeSantis.<\/p>\n
But that stunt blew up in his face. In their November 2023 showdown, DeSantis flattened Newsom so thoroughly that his wife \u2014 or \u201cfirst partner,\u201d as she insists on being called \u2014 practically dragged him offstage the moment his time was up. The humiliation was so bad, even Democrats had to admit Newsom looked like a lightweight.<\/p>\n
And now, as if California\u2019s disasters weren\u2019t enough, Newsom is out peddling Prop. 50 \u2014 a \u201ctemporary\u201d (yeah, right) scheme to kill off his state\u2019s independent redistricting commission just because Texas dared to draw their own maps.<\/p>\n
But he\u2019s not stopping there. Newsom\u2019s now poking his nose into North Carolina politics, jumping on a flimsy, thinly sourced \u201creport\u201d claiming longtime GOP Senate boss Phil Berger cut a deal with Trump for a 2026 endorsement in exchange for redrawing the maps.
